DOW Belgium and Gheys Group have reached an agreement on the sale of 34 acres of industrial land in Tessenderlo. It is a tri-modal accessible area where Gheys Group will develop. Continue its logistics activities Jones Lang LaSalle brokered the sale.

The industrial park is located right next to the exit complex ' Tessenderlo ' E313 (Antwerp-Hasselt-Li├Ęge). It features a vast quay at the inlet dock of the Albert Canal and is equipped with its own railway. In addition to these full tri-modal connections, the site is also connected to a number of commodity pipelines (ethylene, nitrogen, hydrogen and natural gas). The site has a total area of 50 hectares. The agreement between the Group and Gheys DOW Belgium covers 14 hectares on which Styron remains active and 20 acres of industrial park. For Group Gheys it is a strategic acquisition that connects its already existing establishment of 22 acres in Beringen directly with the Albert Canal. In the fields Gheys Group will further expand its logistics activities by investing in the construction of additional storage. This expansion will result in the following years a gradual further increase in employment.

Following the decision to cease operations in Tessenderlo, The Dow Chemical Company in 2013 went to the real estate consultant, Jones Lang LaSalle, to sell her entire site. Jones Lang LaSalle is looking for a suitable buyer for the remainder of 14 acres. In addition to logistics service providers, manufacturing and real estate investors approached.
