pijl titel  Canal Terminal :

At Mol (Belgium) we have 2 canal terminals supplemented by storage facilities for containers, packed goods, general cargo and bulk goods.

Packed goods or general cargo are handled at our own terminal and can be stored directly at our warehouse. Loaded containers can be stored on site and/or be delivered directly to the recipient.

In addition, we have developed a concept that allows us to move goods, using a fork-lift truck, directly from the ship into the warehouse without having to remove the container from the vessel. In this way, we limit the number of operations and the work is performed in a cost-effective manner.

For bulk goods, we use a second canal terminal which is connected to a silo park comprising 55 silos. Bulk goods in containers can be stored and unloaded later at the customer’s using dump chassis fitted with rotary valves.

Thanks to the unique situation of having both a terminal and storage space at the same location, any road transport between ship and warehouse is avoided. All the facilities an importer/exporter might require can be supplied, in part thanks to the good connection with The Netherlands, Germany etc. All of this comes without the disadvantages associated with congestion in and around the major ports. Moreover, the spacious, already licensed expansion possibilities enable us to meet the needs of our customers in a flexible manner.

For inland navigation transport, we work together with an inland navigation company. This company provides 2 vessels with a flexible sailing schedule which make some eight departures a week.
